Christchurch Angling Club


Christchurch Angling Club was founded in 1938 and has grown to be one of the largest clubs in Southern England. Christchurch Angling Club Members are able to fish some of the very best stretches of river in the south of England including the famous Hampshire Avon and  many miles of the Dorset Stour.The club also controls numerous lakes suitable for the specimen hunter, match angler or pleasure fisherman including the Somerley Estate waters. The Christchurch Angling Club game section offers salmon fishing along the Avon valley which includes Somerley Estate which is home to some of the best salmon beats in the South of England as well as providing sea trout and grayling fishing. They also offer, three trout fishing lakes. There is also superb bass and mullet fishing avaliable within Christchurch harbour.


Christhchurch Angling Club offer day tickets on some of their waters.They have a full list of fishing matches and offer coaching with all sessions free of charge and open to members and their guests.

  • Full Membership @ £130.00 [+ £25.00 joining fee]
  • Concessionary membership @ £90.00 - over 70s and registered disabled [+ £25.00 joining fee]
  • Junior membership £55.00 [+ £10.00 joining fee] - 14 to 18yrs
  • Minor membership @ £10.00 [must supply proof of age, and must be accompanied by an adult with a non angling guest ticket in advance]
  • Somerley salmon permit @ £150.00
  • Non Angling Guest @ £12.00 [one per member]
  • Migratory Fish Permit @ £5.00
 Please note the joining fee is for new members and renewals received late


Christchurch Angling Club control all of these stretches of river which offer fantastic sport to both the Coarse and Game fisherman throughout the year.

Christchurch Harbour, Clay pool, Lower Stour, Manor Farm (River Stour), Longham (River Stour), Dudsbury (River Stour), Highmead (River Stour), The Leaze (River Stour), Gains Cross (River Stour)
Canford Bridge (River Stour), Moors River (Tributary of the Stour), Winkton (River Avon), Sopley (River Avon), Sopley Mill Stream, Dudmoor (River Avon), Avon Tyrell (River Avon), Ringwood Fishery (River Avon), Somerley Estate Fishery (River Avon), Folds Farm (River Avon), Redbrook (River Avon), Horseport (River Avon), Sandy Balls (River Avon), Burgate (River Avon), Tincleton (River Frome) 16th October to 14th March (1st April to 15th Oct Trout only)

Christchurch Angling Club control all of these lakes and ponds which offer fantastic sport to Coarse and Match Fisherman as well as being renowned with Specimen Hunters.
